Lately Deacon's personality has really been starting to show more, he is always putting his hands on his hips and whining "MOM!?!" This usually happens when he thinks I should be paying full attention to him and not to whatever I'm distracted with. Love this kid!... and yes yes I know we need to get rid of his binky :) We took Ky's away just after her second birthday, so he gets to keep it another few weeks. I'm dreading taking it away!

I have spring fever!

We have been having so much fun enjoying this mild winter. The temperature has been amazing and has been making me want to start digging around in the yard to prepare for spring. Yesterday we got a dose of our real Utah winters though, even if it was a small storm it reminded me that it is January. I hope it will snow enough soon that we can take the kiddos sledding, if we are going to have snow I want enough to play in, if we aren't going to have enough I don't want to have any and I want it to warm up. :) Can't I just have it all?

This is my documentation of Deac's first black eye. It has lasted more than a week and there is still a little bruise. It was a doosie! He was chasing Darin, tripped and fell into one of our end tables catching himself with his eye. It was horrible and I'm so glad I wasn't in the room, I'm sure my reaction would have made it much worse for him.

Costume Party!

Ky got invited to a costume birthday party for her best friend Kylee's little sister. Kylie and Kylee are both in the same preschool class and are the best of friends :)! I finished Ky's dress last night so she could wear it to the party today. While we were there people were trying to figure out which princess she is supposed to be, it was sort of funny to hear them guess... I guess its easy to know your princesses well if you have an almost 4 year old "all girl" little girl! Although even with how well I know the princesses I'm not sure I would have been able to tell which one she is either. Ky found The Little Mermaid tape at my parents house and begged to watch it, ever since Ariel has been her favorite princess. She told me then that she wanted to be Ariel in the pink dress and there was no persuading her to change her mind :) So here she is dressed as Ariel...Hopefully she doesn't wear the dress out before she gets to wear it for Halloween!

Well Hello! It has been a very long time since we blogged anything. I'm so sad I have been so lazy because having the blog is such a nice journal. Instead of trying to catch up we are just going to start from the last big thing that happened in our lives. Ky started pre-school! She LOVES it....I love it... everyone is happy!

Darin got back Thursday after being gone 2 weeks! It is sooooo nice having him back, even though it is only until Monday. We have missed him so much! The kids have loved playing with him, I feel bad that some of the time I'm just trying to get through the day and I'm not great at getting down on the floor and playing with my kids. I'm gonna work on that :) Today Darin painted Ky's fingers and toes, but he didn't just put one color on he did tips on them and added sparkle fingernail polish too! Ky loved it. He also taught Deac how to hold his arms together so he could catch a ball. Deac had so much fun playing catch with him! We just really love having him back!

The reason we went private is so I can vent about my husband being gone for weeks at a time and not worry that some creepo knows I am home alone with my kids. Darin has been gone a week today. It really hasn't been bad so far. I have been super busy playing with my kids, cleaning, and just surviving during the days and listening to the Harry Potter books and sewing until at least midnight at night. :) The late nights are starting to catch up with me but one of the dresses I shipped out ended up being too small so I had to stay up. I honestly think the lady measured her baby wrong but whatever, so I had to make a whole new dress for her, otherwise I would have been way ahead of schedule and I wouldn't have had to be staying up so late all this last week. I don't know how single working mom's survive! We are out at my parents for Easter Weekend and we are all having a blast. Ky LOVES it here, and really Deac does too. It should be a super fun weekend! We sure will miss our Daddy though! I'm sad he won't be here to see what the Easter Bunny Brings the kids. We will survive though.

Wow.. blogging seriously becomes overwhelming when it has been so long since we last posted! We really haven't been up to much. It seems like we have just been trying to survive the boredom of being stuck inside all the time. It seems like Ky and Deac have so much energy! It will be so nice when I can let them get it all out at the park or the pool this summer. We haven't been taking a lot of pictures mostly because we really, like I already said, haven't been doing anything. I'll catch you up on what we have been doing though. So in March Darin wanted to take the whole family skiing, after talking about it we decided to leave the kids home. Thank heaven we did! I fell 50 million times. It has been over 5 years since I last went snowboarding. My last experience was when we were visiting my sister and her husband in Germany just a few months after Darin and I got married. It was a horrible experience... only because of my inexperience... even still though it ended in tears. So I wasn't sure how this day with Darin at sundance was going to be. It ended up being great though and I finally figured out carving. (mostly :) ) It was the last run down that I was doing my best. Anyway it was fun!

Blessing Gown to Sell

I love sewing. After Deac was born I just couldn't justify sewing, there just was never enough time in the day! My sister and I wanted to start making blessing gowns last summer to sell but like I said there was just no time to really make it happen. Finally after a year I feel like I can take some time to sew and not have it be taking away attention from my family. I designed this gown from scratch and as soon as I get some better photos of it being worn by my sweet little niece Sabrina I will be listing it in my etsy shop. I LOVE how it turned out. Oh and it also has some little matching shoes and a matching headband that I need to take photos of. Let me know what you think!

We finally got ky into a dance group (only after some serious begging) :) ! This is something I have been wanting to do since before she turned 3, but Darin wasn't completely sure he was in on it. Not that he didn't want her to do it he just thinks it is expensive for a 3 year old. And it is, but hopefully she will love it and that will make it worth every penny! We started today and she loved it! She woke up grumpy so I was worried that it might be a disaster but she did great and had so much fun.

This sweet princess turned 3 in December! We had a fun little party for her! I'm pretty sure she thought it was the best day she has ever had in her 3 years :) Friends, cupcakes, presents, all the attention... what more could a girl ask for !?! It was a great day!

Date Night

Darin has taken me on two surprise dates recently, one in December to The Forgotten Carols (loved it!), and one just last friday night to a Chamber Concert at BYU. I'll be honest, I have never even heard of a chamber concert. ( Darin likes to say I'm "un-cultured" which is..uh.. true. :) ) The reason he decided to surprise me with this was because I mentioned to him that I really love music played on a cello. What a sweet husband for remembering that right. I married only the best! It was such a fun date! After the concert he took me to cold stone too! YUMMY! Funny story.. so when we got there they hadn't opened the doors yet to let people in so we were just waiting outside the concert hall, a man came up to Darin and said: " you are looking all nice and dressed up, can I use your tie one of the performers forgot his." Darin let him take it and it ended up being the cello player that had forgotten his tie. You would think a tie would be pretty hard to forget! We got it back at the end, but we didn't get to meet him. He at least owed the owner of the tie he wore that night that! haha We really didn't even care though because we had no idea who he even was, although it still would have been fun to say we met him... just cause.. :)

So I made a new tutorial for my etsy shop! It shows you how to make rice bags that have a removable cover, anyone could make them! They are perfect for winter because you can just put them in the microwave for a couple of minutes and use them to keep you warm. Deacon just got his second haircut ever! Darin was thinking his hair looked orange on the ends so he really wanted it to be cut. I'm pretty sure Darin might be color blind, because I didn't think it was orange at all... Deac was great for his haircut, not one tear and we even used clippers! Ky was very upset afterwards that she didn't get a haircut. Her daddy says she can't have one, I think she would be super cute with a bob, or something shorter, but he says no way! I'm thinking about giving her bangs though... any thoughts?

5 years!

So 5 years ago Kali married me. I can't believe it's been 5 years already because time has flown. I normally don't blog but figured I'd dedicate a post to my lovely wife. Our relationship from the first moment we met has been the closest thing to love at first site that I can think of. Kali is everything and more that I ever could have hoped for in my eternal companion. I am so blessed that she has been and continues to be by my side in life. We've also been blessed to have two of the sweetest and most adorable kids come into our family. My life couldn't be better. I am so grateful for you babe and these last 5 years and look forward to the eternities. You are the best thing that's ever happened to me and I love you mostesterst. 5 days after we met I left for Michigan for the summer to work. I flew Kali out to visit and I'm glad she came cause I had to continue to woo her cause she had 2 boys she was waiting for on missions and one came home a few days after this picture was taken, I guess I did good at wooing her.

My sister had my new sweet niece on monday, she is such a BEAUTIFUL baby! Tina invited me to the birth and I made it with perfect timing, within about 15 minutes of me getting there she arrived. Tina only had to push three times... yes three times, I pushed for a hour and a half with deacon!!! I guess it will probably be the same for me after I have had a couple more kids. Tina did so great, she is such a strong mommy and hardly lets anyone even know when she is feeling pain. Baby Sabrina is a good mix of all of Tina and Steve's kids, and is really just such a pretty girl. She is so blessed to be coming into Steve and Tina's family and I am so excited to be an auntie for the 4th time. YAY Congrats Tina and Steve!

4th of July Fireworks

This year we watched the fireworks from the Stadium of fire up on the side of the mountain, the trail we drive up is kind of above Seven Peaks. Last year we celebrated with the Pridays but the year before that we drove up to this same place. The trail up terrifies me, it has some really steep parts and there is also a huge drop off that is right along the whole trail up, it is super fun though once we get to the little parking spot. Ky thought it was so fun and Deac is basically happy with just about anything we do, so it was a fun little family outing!

We tried really hard to get a family picture but we just couldn't get everyone to fit! :)

Fireworks are so hard to take pictures of but I wanted to show you what the view looks like.

Potty training has been horrible and I'm glad its almost over. Thats all I really have to say about it. But on the brighter side of potty training here is Ky helping me make cupcakes as one of her rewards for going in the potty. She had to put stickers in this little grid I made for her and once it was all full she got to have cupcakes.

4 months and ouchies

Deacon just passed 4 months here are his stats:

weight-14.02 lbs- 29 %tile

length-24.5 in- 31 %tile

head circumference- 16.75 in- 56 %tile

He seriously is such an amazing baby! Deacon is sleeping through the night: 8:00pm to 6:30am(to eat) then until about 7:30am, it is AWESOME. He is always smiling at people. He is almost always happy and is just so much fun to have around! We just love this little guy!

Kylie fell running down our driveway on saturday night and ended up scraping her knee really bad! It was the worst ouchie she has ever had so far, blood and all. Bandaids and kisses can fix just about anything though. Darin had knee surgery this morning to fix some cartilage that was injured snowboarding in January. This is Daddy and Ky showing off their injuries.

Here is Darin right after surgery in recovery. He was trying to joke with me and it was only funny because he kept asking me the same joking questions 10 times! He kept asking me if he still had all his organs, if his tubes had been tied, if he had had a baby, and if he had been a good patient.... it was a fun time! I bet the nurses in recovery have some funny stories to tell! Oh and the baby blanket was on his head because he was cold and wanted something on his head. :) We are so grateful everything went so well!

First Haircut

Deacon's bald spots have been getting a little out of control... so we gave him his first ever haircut! I knew it would look so much better after it was done but I still had tons of anxiety over it before and while I was cutting it! Ha! He was such a sweetie while I was cutting it and it looks much much better! He is my little handsome man!!!

You would think that I never did Ky's hair, but I do, she just pulls it out daily! Her hair grows forward in the front so it goes straight into her eyes when it isn't pulled into a piggy tail. Oh well... what do you do! We went to the park today with my wonderful friend from high school Katie (who actually married my cousin! wahoo) and her daughter and the little girl she is a nanny for. We had a blast and it was nice to get out into this wonderful weather! I am also going on round two of potty training with Ky, she did great this morning and even at the park but has had two accidents during the afternoon. Hopefully we will be done soon!

Darin and I met. :) Here is my version of the story, I think Darin's is the same but you never know...

My very cute roommate Steph was working at the mall and a lady came into the store she was working at, she saw how cute and sweet Steph was and wanted to set her son up with her. So she got Steph's number and gave it to her son. Before her son came over he called one of the buddies he grew up with (Darin) and asked if he wanted to come meet some girls with him. And thank heaven Darin said yes! So these cute boys came over to meet Steph and see if she had any cute roommates, when I saw the guys I was pretty darn sure there wouldn't be any interest in me, you see I had 3 super cute roomies, so I sat on my phone texting a guy I hadn't talked to in a while. But then Darin started asking me questions, and now that I think about it he was really fishing for some conversation! Ha! He started asking me questions about the old nintendo that we had hooked up to our tv, so I told him I would get the games for him if he wanted, and I did. Then he started telling me that he could hook us up with free cable by just switching some wires outside and somehow he got me to come outside with him to check some wires. He couldn't find the right box or something, I can't remember exactly so then we headed back inside and he brings up the fact that he has a motorcycle. I happen to love motorcycles! So he asked me if I wanted to go back to his house and pick it up and go for a ride with him and he was pretty darn cute so it was easy for me to say yes! ( btw I'm thinking we are going to go for a ride on some awesome street bike :) ) so anyway his buddy drops us off at Darin's house and Darin gets this street worthy dirt bike thing out of his garage, I'm pretty sure I was laughing when I saw it. Ha oops! I'm sure Darin didn't think that was very nice! Anyway so he takes me on a ride up to a water tower on the east mountain in orem. As soon as we got there I was thinking: "Oh great! This kid just wants some lip action!" He was actually very much a gentleman while we were there, he held my hand and we just talked. It was awesome. So then we went back to his house and he asked if I wanted to watch a movie so we watched Anchor Man, which is anything but romantic but whatever. We sat on his parent's couch downstairs and then somehow we ended up cuddling on the couch by the end of the movie. Darin is quite the wooer ( I'm sure that isn't a word but you know what I mean!) After the movie we were just talking some more and then Darin broke out the big guns and tried to kiss me! At first I pulled back and gave him a funny look, but then I thought: " eh I really could like this kid and he may just be playing me but if he is he is leaving in three or four days so it won't really matter," and I let him kiss me! Don't judge! It was only once or twice :) I don't remember exactly what time it was but I remember it was really late at that point and Darin's Dad came downstairs right after that and said it was time for me to go. Ha yes Darin was living with his parents. I felt so stupid when his Dad came downstairs! So we left so Darin could take me home but instead of going to bed we decided to go look at the stars on the lawn at my apartment complex. And I know it is totally inappropriate but we ended up falling asleep outside and then when we woke up cold we went inside and snuggled on the floor in my front room ( there were other people spending the night too so it wasn't just us). Early the next morning after we woke up Darin took me to breakfast at the IHOP that was very close to the apartments. Then he went home and I called my mom and told her that I had met the guy I was going to marry! Ha! I just admitted a lot of things that I probably shouldn't have. I just want to make sure everyone knows that I wasn't an "easy" girl and I had never ever kissed a guy that fast! Darin on the other hand was ridiculously easy and kissing a girl that fast was nothing new for him! Darin just happened to sweep me off my feet and he continues to every day! The last five years have been the best in my life! I couldn't ask for more in a husband and I'm glad I kissed him that night :)

This stroller is awesome for two kids!!! My wonderful, lovely, and handsome husband let me purchase one :) I picked mine up today in pleasant grove from a lady who reviews baby products on her blog. She had purchased it, put it together and reviewed it then was ready to sell it for 20 bucks cheaper than the cheapest I could find it online. Ahhhh I am in heaven ;)

ps my sister has the ulta light one and she uses it for all three kids when she goes to Disneyland!

This little man is such an angel! He hardly ever cries, only is up once or twice a night and is just super easy going. Ky on the other hand is going through a little more difficult stage, she seems to be into EVERYTHING! If I'm not watching her even for two seconds there is usually a mess to clean up! I feel like I'm probably the busiest I have ever been, but that is probably because everything takes at least twice as long. My life is about to get quite a bit more difficult too because summer is here and Darin is going to be much much more busy so there won't be much more help from him! Oh well right :)

April 3rd we had the opportunity to bless Deacon. We were going to have the chance to have all of our intermediate families in town, but of course last minute my sisters kids got sick, but her family is the only one that missed it! I was so sad she couldn't be there but we still had a ton of family and friends there. It was so nice to have all the support! Thank you to all of our friends and family for coming it was such a special time for our little family! Darin gave Deacon a beautiful blessing, I am grateful that he holds the priesthood and can bless our family. It was a wonderful evening. :)

So today is Kali's birthday and since she's stuck at the hospital with Deacon I figured I'd put a post on so you all can know. Kali is an amazing woman and one of the best mothers in the world and puts up with all of my bagage so for that we all know how amazing she is. I went to the hospital today to see Deacon and Kali and after I went back to my parents house to pick up Kylie. When I was at my parents house they showed me a paper I filled out 10 years ago. The paper had some goals I made with some predictions and such. One of my predictions was that I'd have a foxy wife, and I do! Kali is one sexy mama in every way. Today when we were at Walgreens getting Kylie's perscription filled they had a sweet shirt so I got it for Kylie for Kali's birthday (see the picture below). Happy Birthday honey! I can't wait for you and Deacon to get back home!

Also for Kali's birthday Kylie got an ear infection in both ears and Deacon decided he didn't need to use the oxygen at the hospital for almost an hour today too so looks like things are starting to improve. If only every birthday could be this awesome!

RSV update...

First of all thank you for all your thoughts and prayers! I know we are being extremely blessed and I'm so grateful to my Heavenly Father for that! I know that my little family is being closely watched over! I think I have been holding myself together quite well considering everything that is going on. I only cry every now and then:(...So Deacon and I are still in the hospital without really an end in sight. Dr Farnsworth, our new awesome pediatrician, came in this morning to check up on Deacon, he said he is sounding better but that Deacon needs to be able to breath just normal air for at least half a day and keep his oxygen numbers above 91. They turned off the oxygen this morning just to see what would happen but the numbers dropped and with in a couple of minutes the oxygen was back on. The Dr said that he really has no idea when we will go home, he said it could be tonight or a few days, but he really just doesn't know. I would like to be home and I miss our family being together but at the same time I am so grateful that Deacon is being monitored so closely that I don't mind being here at all. Dr Farnsworth is also coming in tomorrow to check on Deacon even though it is his day off, I told him he really didn't have to and we would be fine with anyone he works with, but he said that we are on the "family plan" and that he would love to come check on him! So nice, I just love him already! Darin and Kylie are doing great at home together. He told me she had a poop accident this morning :S but it seems like otherwise they are doing great together. Darin's parents have been so so so helpful! They helped me get into the hospital and stayed until about 12:30 am even though Dad P had to get up early, they both have been bringing me random stuff that I need, Dad has given us blessings and Mom has been here both monday and today to watch Deacon while I shower. I am so grateful for them and their willingness to help out!!! They are just wonderful! My parents are always saying how grateful they are to the Priday's for being there when they wish they could be, my parents are planning to come out tomorrow though to see Deacon and for my birthday. I'm turning 24! I'll be honest after everything that has happened I feel much older than that! They only thing I want for my birthday is a healthy happy family but even more a healthy happy sweet baby boy!!!

Cough...RSV...Pneumonia?

So after the last post Kali took the kids to the pediatrician just to have them checked out cause Deacon started to get more of a cough. They said it looks like he might be getting RSV and to be careful. We decided it'd be best if we stayed home all weekend instead of going out and getting other family sick at Devin's welcome home. Sunday we took the kids to an afterhours clinic just to check because Deacon seemed to be having a harder time breathing and was wheezing more. Kylie had to wear this sweet mask because she had a cough:

Turns out that the afterhour’s pediatrician was Rick Farnsworth, he's Dad Priday's cousin. He was great and checked out Deacon and said that he needed to take some antibiotics for an ear infection, he needed to get some suction treatments done at the hospital as needed, and he has RSV and Bronchialitus or something like that. We went home and dropped me and Kylie off since it was bed time for Ky. Kali and Deacon went to the hospital to get the suction treatment done. Mom and Dad Priday just happened to be at the same hospital visiting a neighbor that had been admit that same day/week. From what I know they did the suction treatment, they had to stick tubes through Deacon's nose and down to his bronchial tubes and then they suctioned the mucus out. After they did the treatment I guess Deacon's oxygen levels were too low and wouldn't stabilize. They decided to admit him after observing him for a while. Kali called me this morning to give me an update and it turns out that Deacon has Viral Pneumonia or something like that. It is supper sad hearing him cough and breath. We were really unprepared for this but so far we're very grateful that things have worked out as well as they have. We appreciate all your thoughts and prayers and we need them. and its not even over!!! This week has already been a very very stressful one! Sunday was a pretty normal day except that Darin felt like he was starting to get sick that night. Monday morning Darin was feeling even more sick and left for a retreat with work in st george at 6:45AM. Kylie had woken up when he did then Darin put her in bed with me with some milk and we went back to sleep for a while. I woke up to a noise in the bathroom, when I checked in the bathroom I found Kylie with my make-up bag with make up everywhere, including a few things in the toilet! I hurried to take everything away from her and started cleaning up and discovered 3 little medicine foils missing their pills! Yikes! I was pretty sure that they were probably emptied by me but I couldn't take the chance. So I rushed to call poison control (my first time ever calling them and hopefully my last!!!). Of course they said I needed to get Kylie to the ER as soon as possible so I threw some clothes on and loaded my kids in the car. I was crying at this point feeling like I was the worst mommy in the world! I called Darin while I was loading the kids, he was in a car with a bunch of other guys from work so it wasn't like he could just turn around. Well he could have, the other guys in the car offered but I wasn't even sure if she had taken them so I just told him to wait until I knew more. Darin called his parents right after and asked them to meet me at the hospital. Thank heavens they were able to come help me out! Darin's dad pulled in right when I did and helped me into the ER then Darin's Mom showed up about 15 minutes later. Since I wasn't sure Kylie had taken any of the pills and she didn't seem to be having any side effects the doctor just decided to watch her. We had to stay there 4 hours! Kylie didn't mind one bit though, the nurses gave her a dolly, a pink sippy cup with all the juice she could handle, a quilt, a little toy that had water in it and you try to get some little rings onto some little poles in the water, and she got to watch the disney channel 4 hours straight! Darin's mom stayed there with me, it was so so nice to have her there! So they let us go about a half hour early because Ky was acting completely normal, the doctor said she either didn't take enough for it to be really bad for her or she didn't take any at all. I'm pretty sure she didn't take any at all, I can't imagine her eating a pill. So after we got home my parents got into town. They were already planning a trip out it just ended up being really great timing because I really needed some support that day. That night I had terrible nightmares all night, and of course Darin was in St george sleeping in a hotel with a bunch of guys so I didn't feel like I could call him in the middle of the night. Tuesday my parents left and Darin got home but he was feeling so sick that he went straight to bed and basically that has been where he has stayed. To keep the kids away from him Darin has been sleeping and hanging out down in our basement... poor guy! Buddy keeps him company most of the time though! Deacon was the fussiest he has ever been on tuesday and I'm pretty sure it was because of how stressed out I was the day before. My milk must have been upsetting his tummy, poor baby! Wednesday wasn't terribly eventful except that night Darin decided to go to the insta care in springville, our insurance just changed so we didn't know that it doesn't have coverage at that insta care and he then had to go the the insta care by the riverwoods to be covered. Annoying. Luckily the doctor was able to give him a prescription for some cough syrup and antibiotics but when he went to walgreens have the prescriptions filled he had to wait for at least 45 minutes! It took forever! He slept better last night because of the medicines. Today he also slept much better, I only saw him the few times I went downstairs to make sure he was alive. I feel so bad for him! I have been trying so hard to keep the kids healthy but I'm not sure it has worked. Kylie woke up in the middle of the night last night coughing and sounding congested so I gave her tylenol and put a humidifier in her room and then she went back to sleep until 6:50AM and then we were up for the day...:( It felt way too early to be waking up. I gave Ky medicine today too to help her little bit of a cough, but she doesn't seem terribly sick. We were supposed to be going to my parents today, we at least the kids and I were planning on going to my parents because my sister is in town for my little brother's welcome home from his mission. Tina and her family are only staying until monday so I'm sad to be missing out on spending time with them, but what can you do when your family is sick!!! Deacon and I still seem to be okay, hopefully it will stay that way! I am terrified of having a sick newborn!!! Oh and to top off everything, tonight was the fourth night in a row that Kylie has pooped in the bathtub. AWESOME!

On a more positive note.. Deacon is 6 weeks old tomorrow! Time if flying by and he is growing a ton! I took these pictures tonight after he had a bath.

Every night Ky asks if we will lay by her but she says it "sby you". We were laying by her for a few weeks to help her fall asleep but we decided we had to break that habit very fast because it was getting so she would wake up the instant Darin or I would leave and ask us to stay longer by her. Since Darin will start traveling soon I don't want putting her to bed to take an hour because what if Deacon needs me??? Anyway so she started asking if buddy could sby her but he won't just stay on her bed, he sort of avoids her because she is pretty rough with him sometimes. It would be perfect if he would sleep by her though but he won't. Now she asks if brother can sby her so when we read her story to her Deacon gets to lay by her. it is really cute she always tries to hold on to him and give him kisses! I love my kids!

Wow I cannot believe it has already been 4 weeks since we had Deacon! It has been a wonderful 4 weeks! We wouldn't trade him for anything, he is such a sweet baby! He is only up 2-3 times a night and had one night where he only woke up once! I would say his favorite thing to do is eat! This kid loves to nurse and I feel like that is all I am ever doing! He seems to be just packing on the weight which I love! I hope he becomes a rolly polly chubby baby :) He really is just super easy going, we just love this little man!

Kylie got her first rose from her daddy on friday, she thought it was so fun! My wonderful husband also got me a dozen roses! What a sweetheart! I LOVE flowers! He got them for us early because he had to work yesterday :(... it was a really long saturday! Ky and Deacon both got Valentine's from the Grandparents and even Grandma Great Clayburn sent them each a Valentine! My activity days girls gave me a "heart attack" on friday too, there are cute giant hearts taped to my door and they brought a plate of cookies over too. I accidentally saw one of them running away though because I always look out my window to see who is at my door... I pretended that I didn't see her though. :) We also have the sweetest neighbors ever, they always remember Kylie at each holiday! This time they brought over a stuffed animal and a cute red dress. The kids each got a stuffed animal today from us that I will post pictures of later and I'm making a fancy dinner for Darin tonight! I'm so excited about it! We are having ribs, shrimp, asparagus, chocolate dipped strawberries and a homemade (real) cheesecake! This is my first time making one so I guess we will see if it was a success! I really am so excited to make this meal for the love of my life! Darin is always so good to help around the house but the last two weeks he has been amazing! He gets up every morning with Ky around 7:00-7:30 and makes breakfast, he lets me sleep in as long as he can before he has to go to work. He also wakes up at night with Ky if she is ever having problems! Seriously AMAZING! I am so so so blessed! Honey... I love your guts!!!

Deacon was two weeks old yesterday! I can't believe how fast time goes! We took him to the doctor for his two week check up yesterday, the doctor says he looks great. When he was born he weighed 6 pounds 11 ounces and yesterday when he was weighed he came in at 7 pounds 7 ounces! He is packing on weight fast! The doctor said that they are just usually wanting them to be back at their birth weight at 2 weeks, so he is doing great with his weight. He is in the 50th percentile for his height and the 25-50th percentile for his head. Oh and when they poked his foot for his PKU he didn't even cry! Each time he had to have it pricked for his bili levels he never would really cry either, he is just a tuff boy I guess! When we were at the doctor Darin and I were talking about when we had taken Ky to her 2 week appointment and when they pricked her foot she started screaming and didn't stop until I started nursing her and of course I had started crying too (I'm blaming it on all the crazy hormones :) ) so it was just a big drama scene! Little boys are just much different I guess! Anyway he is doing great and so are the rest of us! Oh and I know this picture is kind of a silly one but this is the best one I took because he was ready to eat and wasn't in the mood to be taking pictures!

The last 5 days have been painful, sleepless, and absolutely amazing! We have received so much help especially from family and our close friends! Thank you so much for all your prayers and support! So to catch everyone up to speed my opinion on v-bac vs. c section...v-bac is better, it was still painful, just different. I loved that I got to hold my baby boy right after he was born and that he got to stay in the room with us for about an hour before they took him to clean him up. The recovery also seems to be better so far. I had a few moments of doubting that it was better but at this point looking back I would say it has been better. We stayed in the hospital two nights and got to come home Sunday morning. We found out early Sunday morning that Deacon's bilirubin counts were high and that he would have to be on the lights until we left the hospital. After we got home a bili-bed was also delivered to our house and we were told to keep him on the lights all the time unless he was eating or getting his bum changed. It was really hard to not get to hold him very much that entire day. Sunday night was also hard because I was afraid of Deacon getting cold on the lights; his temperature was low so we just ended up putting more blankets on him even though the IHC guy advised against it. Monday morning we took him to the lab to have his bilirubin levels tested and they had come way down so we got to take him off the lights. We have had to go to the lab every day since to have him tested but we haven't had to put him back on the lights. The night we got home from the hospital was really a terrible night for Kylie. She went to bed and everything seemed normal but she woke up during the night and my mom went to help her back to sleep but Kylie ended up throwing up all over! It was horrible. After we got her bathed and her bedding re-done we got her back in bed and my mom said she would sleep on her floor to help her out if needed so that we could get some sleep. We found out the next morning that my mom basically was up the entire night catching throw up! I felt terrible that my baby girl was so sick and that my poor mom hadn't gotten any sleep! So Ky was sick Monday and Tuesday throwing up off and on. Today she kept everything down and has been doing tons better! The last time she threw up was Tuesday night right after Darin and his dad gave her a priesthood blessing and she has been much better since. Darin and his dad also gave Deacon a blessing! I love that the priesthood is in my home; my husband is an amazing daddy and husband! So that is basically catching everything up. My good friend Laurel was going to come over and take some pictures of Deacon earlier in the week but since we have been sick we have been waiting to have her come. I decided to try to take a few pictures on my own and since my little man is so handsome I knew they would turn out great!

Today we had a very sweet little boy enter the world! Deacon Samuel Priday! He weighed 6 lbs 11 oz, was 19 1/2 in long and came into this world at 9:53 AM. Last night at my baby shower my wonderful wonderful friends (Liz, Cass, and Laurel) put together for me my water decided to break after only being there maybe a half hour! I was so sad to miss out on all the delicious food and the fun company but I knew we had to be on our way to the hospital. Darin and Ky came to pick me up and luckily my mom had come out to provo for the shower so she was there too! My dad instantly got in the car and was on his way out here when he heard the news too! We made it to the hospital and got checked in, Darin's parents came to pick up Ky to keep her for the night, she was kind of a little stinker for them but we are so grateful that they took her it was so relieving to know she was in great hands! It didn't take me very long to request my epidural, the needle was inserted in my back while I was having a contraction and the contraction felt much worse so I was so happy once I had gotten it. We started out at 1 1/2 cm dilated and it took until about 7:45AM for me to be ready to push! It was a long night for everyone.... I pushed for just over two hours and then our sweet baby boy entered this world! He is so sweet and we are so happy he is here safe and sound!

So we went to the doctor today for my 36 week check up. I am actually 36 weeks and 2 days , not that it really matters, but anyway he checked me (OUCH) to see if there is any progress happening and I am 50% effaced and 1 cm dilated! I am really excited about this because this is much further along than I was with Ky at this point! YAY

So I'm trying to figure out if it is worth buying a baby carrier for baby boy. I assume that I will probably be carrying him around quite a bit for any thing that we have to do out of our house like grocery shopping or running any errands. Kylie still has to be in the cart or I have to chase her everywhere so I just don't know how I am going to fit a car seat and Kylie and any groceries in the cart. So basically I just am wanting advice from any of you experienced mothers that have had more than one little one, is it something I will even end up using? And of course I want the one that I think will work best for me and will last through all of my children so it is a little more expensive...:S

Darin's Christmas Toy :)

Christmas was a blast and we were very very blessed this year!

My sister and her family came to Utah for their Christmas vacation, it was so fun to spend time with them!

It was after this storm that Darin decided we needed a snow plow to attach to the 4 wheeler and I think a a lot of our neighbors have been very happy with this purchase ;) Darin almost gets excited when it snows now because of his new toy!

This is my belly at about 30 weeks. I'm now just over 34 weeks so I'm much bigger... maybe I'll have Darin take a picture of my belly when he gets home tonight....

This is also when I'm about 30 weeks prego. This was our 1st annual gingerbread house :) we decided to make a new tradition this year! Kylie and Darin ate at least half of the candy that came with the kit (i'm sure the eating of the candy will also be part of the tradition!)... silly kids!

Ky turned 2 on the 15th! I can't believe that she is that old! We decided it would be fun to take a little trip to visit my sister and her family and to take ky to disneyland on her birthday! She had tons of fun with her cousins and was very spoiled! Thank you Tina and family for all the fun!

Rhyming Time & Me and Mitt

So a few years back I went on my mission,
and ever since I've had loads of ambition.
On the streets of Portugal a drunk I did meet,
speaking with him it was such a treat.
In rhyme he did talk,
no line he could walk but listening to him was such fun.
A blog I just saw,
it left me in awe and from it a challenge did come.

The next 5 blog entries Kali must write in rhyme,

So seriously I met a guy on my mission that was always drunk and he spoke everything in rhyme. Whenever I saw him I tried to talk to him in rhyme as well, which wasn't easy to do in a second language but it was way fun. I just saw someone else's blog and I don't know if they meant to do it or not but the first few lines where rhyming and it took me back to the rhyming drunk guy in Portugal. Since Kali is so creative and is always up for a challenge I passed the challenge on to her. Keep tuned this will be fun and funny. Oh yeah I also shook Mitt Romney's hand today at a work thingy. It was pretty cool to meet him. He is a way good speaker. I also got a picture with him since we're such good friends now. I'm the 3rd person to his left with the tan jacket and brown hair by the old bald/white haired guy that looks like he could be Captain John Luke Picard.

Tonight will be the 3rd night that Ky has slept in her big girl bed! She is doing very well with it and sleeps just as good as she did in the crib. Last night Darin went in to check on her before we went to bed to find her like this:

I have been sewing a ton these super fun pettiskirts to sell on etsy! I just think that they are so cute! Ky loves wearing them because they are so soft! Hopefully they will actually sell... Darin doesn't have high hopes for my etsy shop because I haven't been very successful yet but something is going to sell! ;) I am a pretty determined woman! If anyone wants one let me know on my blog and I'll give you a discount! :)

Grandma Lindsay's Cinnamon Rolls

2 cups scalded milk
1 cup sugar
1/2 tbsp. salt
1/2 cup butter
3 eggs ( slightly beaten)
flour (approx. 6 to 6 1/2 cups)
2 tbsp. yeast
1 cup mashed potatoes

Put yeast in about 1/3 cut water that is the correct temperature. Set aside. Mix scalded milk, sugar, salt, and butter. Add slightly beaten eggs and part of the flour mixing for a minute or two. Put the yeast in. Continue to mix and add more flour. Add the mashed potatoes. Put the rest of the flour in taking care to only put as much is needed to make the dough start to pull off the sides of the bowl as you mix. Don't add too much flour or they will go tough. Knead for approximately 6 or seven minutes. Turn out into greased bowl to raise. Raise until the dough is doubled in size. Divide into two balls and roll out on a floured surface into a rectangle. Cover with butter, brown sugar, and cinnamon on half of the rectangle. Fold over the side that doesn't have the stuff on it to cover the side that does. Cut 1 inch strips. Twist like a rope and coil up leaving plenty of room on pan. Do not crowd them. Bake at 400 degrees until light brown. Frost with a powdered sugar frosting or glaze.

Tips from me :)

*The dough is super sticky.. so be prepared to use quite a bit of flour when you are rolling the dough out!

*I baked mine about 12 minutes.. the recipe is so vague but it is just an "old time" recipe. My mom had to figure out how much flour went in it because the copy she has from my grandma just says to add flour! Grandma's just don't need specifics I guess:)

We have been so behind on blogging but I'm going to try catching everything up from the last few weeks. We went out to my parents for hunting season and Darin and my Dad hunted while the women crafted. :) It was such a fun trip! We are super excited for the jerky! YUMMY!

We have a name!

So due to the overwhelming response from companies wanting to buy the rights to naming our child we finalized on a name. The name we have decided to use is Wednesday for his first name and Thursday for his middle name. We fill this will help our boy grow and have a great sense of humor and be able to joke around with the best of em. If you don't like this name then maybe you should have had made a better offer on purchasing the rights to his name. With that said just know it's still not too late to make an offer! I'd even be willing to throw in the middle name for free with the purchase of the first name. Don't wait thinking you'll find a deal like this again! This really is a once in a lifetime opportunity!

Nursing Cover Tutorial

There are a ton of tutorials on how to make a nursing cover but I think mine is cuter than most. ;) I really want some feedback on my tutorial to see if anyone can understand my instructions. Baby Name?

So I came up with an idea the other day when I was thinking about how the Delta Center is now Energy Solutions Arena. Delta paid lots of money to have their name on the Jazz's court and now Energy Solutions pays a lot of money. So with the recession that is going on I thought of a way to increase our income with the addition of our new baby...you may have guessed it already but if not my genius idea is to sell the rights of naming our baby. If any of you work for a company that is looking to get some good PR or just some advertising have them contact me, not Kali. Kali isn't a huge fan of this but I'm sure once she sees all the offers come rolling in she'll come around. Also if any of you have good name suggestions for a baby boy post a comment and give us some good ideas...you can't use Zeus cause Kali already told me I couldn't name our boy that and I'm not a fan of Energy Solutions Priday so don't suggest that one either.

BOY!!!!!
So about 2.5 years ago we were in the ultrasound room and found out we were having a girl. All of the sudden the fear of the unknown started to hit me. I started to think back to my childhood that I filled with boy-ish things. I realized that I really had no clue how to raise a girl...all I know is that boys shouldn't be around my daughter. Kali told me after we found out it's a boy that she doesn't know what to do with a boy and ahhh it feels good to be the one that might know how to teach a boy boy-ish things. Plus I'm tired of being the minority in the house!!!

BYU (#20) v Oklahoma (#3)

So this last weekend me, my brother Nate, and my Dad all met up in Arlington, TX at the new Dallas Cowboys football stadium for the BYU v Oklahoma game. It was awesome! It was fun to spend time with my Dad and brother, it was awesome to see a game inside the new Cowboys stadium, and it was awesome to see BYU come out with the win. Seriously if you ever get a chance to see a game played in that stadium do it. It was huge and the jumbo tron that is supposedly 60 yards long was awesome. It was like watching a football game on an LCD screen that's bigger than most houses.

My Amazing Wife

So I just wanted to try to beat my wife to this post and since she would have focused on the final product and not how amazing she is I figured I better hurry. Kali is so talented in so many ways. She is always starting new crafts and they always turn out amazing. She just finished making these booties for Ky and I can't get over how awesome they turned out. Kali is one amazing woman.

For the last few weeks or so I have been having some morning sickness and have been way tired, but just recenly I have been starting to have more energy! YAY It is so nice to actually want to get up and do something!

So I just bought this pattern from youcanmakethis.com. I plan on trying to get a dress finished for Ky and my niece Josie before I go to California so they can wear them to Disneyland! I have been looking at patterns from that website for a while and have had a hard time purchasing any because they seem a little expensive! It seems like the patterns they have are way cuter than the ones you can get for little kids at joanns though so I really wanted to try one! Anyway wish me luck! I'll post the finished products if I really actually get them done! :)

Oh and sort of random...

I started crocheting a little bit again, I learned how a few years ago but I only know basics. I usually need an instruction book sitting right in front of me so I can see how each stitch is done because I am always forgetting the details! Anyway I made some booties/slippers for Kylie and I think they turned out way cute (I'll post pictures soon). This is the next project that I want to do though:

I haven't really ever tried piecing a quilt together but I really want to make one for Kylie's big girl bed. I think I want to try this one for my first one, I think it is sooo cute! Football is here!

Darin is so excited that football is starting up again! I don't get nearly as excited as he does about it but I'm excited that he is excited;). Kylie also seems to like watching football and loves it when they score touchdowns because she gets to put her arms up and do a touchdown dance with daddy! FUN FUN!

The Zoo

Yesterday we got the chance to go to the zoo! We went with Grandma and Grandpa Clayburn, Auntie Tina, Ethan, Josie, and Ryan. It was a ton of fun! Poor Darin had to get up at 3:45 AM Utah time to catch a flight from Cleveland and got in to SLC at 10:00 AM I'm sure he was sooo tired but he didn't complain about it at all! He had been there working for the last week. Kylie really loved the zoo and knew a ton of the animal signs! It was so much more fun than when we went last year because she just seemed to really like it. The weather was awesome, we were planning on rain but it ended up being cooler which was just perfect. I think Tina may have said different but for prego me it was so great that it wasn't hot!!! I would have died I think! Anyway tons of fun!
